Match Fishing

Message from our Match Secretary Barry Witteridge:
We are a friendly group of anglers who meet on Sunday mornings for matches from June to March. During summer months we fish still waters, mainly Claydon Lake and Itters Pit, but we also hold matches against other local clubs on their waters and have matches on some lakes in Milton Keynes. During winter months we fish the river in Buckingham.
Matches are open to all club members and if you would like further details or participate in a future match you can contact me on 01869 277660 or

Itters Pit – Out of Bounds Area

The area be behind the snags in the corner of the pit is now out of bounds.

Whilst some anglers maybe able to extract fish from intimate snaggy areas, the practice of stalking behind the snags is only asking for trouble and will become roped off with immediate effect. Anyone caught fishing in the roped off area is likely to lose their ticket.

It will however give the fish an area of sanctuary as some of the reeds have been lost and is obviously a good observation area.
